Shipping Ports:

Port Aktau is the principal port of the country.

Age Restriction:

Vehicles over five years are not allowed to be imported in the country. Volume of the engine must not exceed 3 liters.

Left-Hand Drive Vehicles:

Left Hand Drive vehicles are allowed to be import in the country.


Importing a Vehicle:

  • Vehicles must be under five years old
  • The vehicle's engine volume must not exceed three liters
  • Any vehicle permitted entry must be for personal use only--sale is prohibited
  • Import fees and duties must be paid in advance

Documents Required:

  • Copy of Technical Passport / Certificate of Title
  • Original proof of registration
  • Commercial/purchase invoice
  • Bill of Lading (BOL)
  • Original Customs Declaration
  • Pro-forma Invoice with vehicle details (chassis, engine number, production year, model, color and reasonable Customs value)
  • Commitment Letter

Duties and Taxes:

  • 5 years and older vehicles will be charge the duty rate will be Euro 4 per cc for engines of 1800cc-3000cc
  • Customs duty on an engine of 3000cc will be Euro 12 000, with VAT standing at 12percent.
  • For cars of 5 years and older vehicles with an engine of over 3000cc, the duty rate has been raised to Euro 5.8 per cubic centimeter.
  • Customs duty on an engine of 4000cc will make up Euro 23 000, with VAT standing at 12percent.
